Bai Khem – A Year-Round Crescent-Shaped Paradise in Southern Phu Quoc

Bai Khem (also known as Bai Kem) stretches for about 3.5 km and lies gently within a sheltered bay on the southeastern coast of Phu Quoc. Thanks to its naturally protected location, the beach is renowned as a year-round beauty, even during the summer months when Phu Quoc often sees heavy rain and the western beaches experience strong waves.

According to local residents, the best time to visit Bai Khem is from June to September, when the sea is completely calm, the water turns jade-green and crystal clear, and the sunlight is soft and pleasant. With its gentle slope and shallow waters, Bai Khem is also an ideal beach for families with young children.

One of the most striking features of Bai Khem is its graceful crescent shape, resting quietly between two forested hillsides. Near the beach lies a charming fishing village where locals are warm, welcoming, and always ready to share the freshest seafood of Phu Quoc. Among the many dishes visitors remember long after leaving, the famous herring salad (goi ca trich) stands out as a must-try specialty.

A trip to Bai Khem is a journey that indulges all the senses. Your eyes are soothed by the endless shades of blue from the sea and the swaying coconut trees; your skin is gently touched by warm sunshine and fine white sand; and your taste buds are delighted by fresh seafood served right on the beach.

Because it is located on the eastern coast, Bai Khem is one of the few places in Phu Quoc where you can watch the sunrise over the sea. As the sun rises, its golden rays shimmer across the emerald water and dance upon the coconut groves—creating one of the most unforgettable moments of any trip to this paradise.

In addition to relaxing in nature, Bai Khem is also a fantastic spot to enjoy water activities such as kayaking, banana boat rides, parasailing, and jet skiing—especially during the calm, sunny days of summer.
