Ganh Dau Cape is a rocky headland stretching out into the sea on the northwestern tip of Phu Quoc Island. Despite being close to the island’s tourism hotspots, this area remains incredibly unspoiled and serene, often described as a “raw gemstone waiting to be polished.”
Located about 30 km from Duong Dong Town and only 3 km from Cambodia’s Nan Island, Ganh Dau offers one of the most unique coastal landscapes in Phu Quoc, with panoramic views extending all the way to Cambodia.
Highlights of Ganh Dau
1. Crescent-shaped beach with crystal-clear waters
The beach at Ganh Dau curves gently like a crescent, bordered by lush greenery.
Its golden sand, clear turquoise water, and peaceful atmosphere make it perfect for relaxing, swimming, or simply sitting back and admiring the fishing boats bobbing offshore.
2. Forests meeting the sea
One of Ganh Dau’s signatures is the image of ancient forest growing right up to the shoreline. Towering old-growth trees stretch toward the water — a scene rarely found on other beaches. Adjacent to the cape is Phu Quoc National Park, the island’s “green lung.”
3. Unique rock formations
The coastline here is lined with natural rock formations carved over thousands of years by waves and wind. Each rock has its own distinct shape, creating a striking natural sculpture garden.
For photography lovers, this is a true “million-like check-in spot.”
(Visitors should note that the rocks may be slippery due to moss.)
4. Stunning views of Cambodia
From Ganh Dau, visitors can clearly see Nan Island, Kaoh Ses, and even Mount Ta Lon in Cambodia. On clear days, the overseas landscape appears vivid and sharply defined — a rare experience in Vietnam.
5. Nguyen Trung Truc Shrine
Also located at the cape is the Nguyen Trung Truc Shrine, where locals come to pray for peace. It commemorates the national hero who fought for the country’s independence. An annual ritual is held here on the 28th day of the eighth lunar month.
