The Lang Co Breakwater, located along the coastline of Mỹ Khê Hamlet in Tam Thanh Commune, Special Zone of Phú Quý (Lâm Đồng Province), was originally constructed as a seawall to protect the island from strong waves.
Today, it has become one of the most eye-catching check-in spots on Phú Quý Island.
While breakwaters around the island all attract young visitors, Lang Co stands out thanks to its brightly painted concrete wave-barrier blocks. These once-plain structures have been transformed into a colorful art installation, adding charm and vitality to the rugged seascape.
In recent years, the Lang Co Breakwater has emerged as a fresh photography hotspot for both tourists and locals. What used to be a row of dull, grey cement blocks is now a lively stretch of vivid colors—unique, playful, and surprisingly gentle against the powerful ocean backdrop.
This “rainbow breakwater” was created through the joint efforts of the Bình Dương Provincial Youth Union, the Bình Dương Green Summer volunteer students, and Phú Quý’s local youth and officers. Their collaboration resulted in a one-of-a-kind seaside artwork that has quickly captured travelers’ attention.
A visit here offers more than just vibrant photos. Visitors can breathe in the salty ocean breeze, watch fishing boats drift along the horizon, and immerse themselves in the beauty of island sunrises and sunsets—all while enjoying one of Phú Quý’s most distinctive coastal views.
