Following the coastal road 27/4 that curves gracefully around the island, you will easily spot Phuot Slope—a favorite stop among young travelers. From afar, you can already see groups of friends and phượt (adventure riders) parking their motorbikes on the hilltop, taking photos, filming, and laughing as they capture the breathtaking scenery around them.
A Scenic Coastal Road Where Forest Meets the Sea
The loop road around Phu Quy Island offers countless beautiful viewpoints, and Phuot Slope is one of its most iconic spots. The slope itself is not high, but it winds gently along the shoreline and rocky cliffs. The landscape here is truly picturesque: lush casuarina forests whisper in the wind, blending with the rhythmic sound of waves rolling onto the rocks.
Separated only by a narrow road, the deep blue sea merges harmoniously with the greenery of ancient casuarina trees and the soft carpet of young grass—highlighting the gentle ash-grey slope that has become a favorite among visitors. From the top, looking eastward, you can see Tranh Islet, dark green like a giant whale rising above the water, sheltering fishing boats and protecting the coastal road from strong winds and rough seas.

Why It’s Called “Phuot Slope”
Originally, this was just another hillside along the island’s coastal route. But thanks to its uniquely beautiful scenery—where the forest sits right next to the sea—and the fact that adventure riders often stop here to admire the view, it gradually earned the nickname “Phuot Slope.”
A Paradise for Photography Lovers
Located in Tam Thanh Commune, Phuot Slope offers countless “Instagrammable” angles:
- Stand by the roadside to capture the full view of mountains and sea with almost no traffic.
- Climb to the top of the slope to take in the panoramic blue ocean with Tranh Islet standing majestically in the distance.
- Watch fishing boats returning to Trieu Duong Harbor after a long night at sea.
- Or simply look up and enjoy the casuarina trees swaying peacefully in the ocean breeze.
The atmosphere here is incredibly refreshing. Take a deep breath and you will feel the pure, peaceful air of this serene coastal paradise.
Especially at dawn, Phuot Slope becomes one of the best sunrise viewpoints on Phu Quy Island. As the sun slowly rises above the horizon, brilliant rays of light spread across the sky, creating a magical moment you won’t soon forget.
