With pristine turquoise beaches, silky white sand, and golden sunlight, Con Dao is truly the ultimate destination for the summer heat.
For years, Con Dao has captured the hearts of travelers with its untouched beaches and powdery shorelines. The air here is fresh and rejuvenating, earning the island its reputation as a paradise for relaxation—an ideal refuge for anyone looking to escape the heat and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life.
If you’re planning a trip to Con Dao, don’t miss these four must-visit spots!
Hon Bay Canh
Whenever Con Dao is mentioned, Hon Bay Canh is always one of the first names that comes to mind—an irresistible highlight among the island’s attractions. Rising amid the vast ocean, this island is completely wrapped in flourishing primary forest.
Hon Bay Canh is strictly protected and designated as a key ecological restoration area to safeguard its rich biodiversity. Nature has blessed this island with a thriving ecosystem: coral reefs, seaweed, seagrass beds, and countless marine creatures such as clams, snails, and sea cucumbers.

Visitors can explore mangrove ecosystems and dive to admire the coral reefs. The corals here are not only diverse but include several species listed in Vietnam’s Red Data Book.
Con Dao Prison
Beyond its breathtaking beaches and lush tropical forests, Con Dao Prison is one of the most visited landmarks on the island. Often referred to as “Hell on Earth,” it ranks among the ten most brutal prisons in the world and is now preserved as a national historical museum.
The site carries deep spiritual significance as a solemn reminder of the atrocities inflicted by French colonists and the U.S.-backed Saigon regime. A visit to Con Dao Prison offers a sobering glimpse into the stifling cells and cruel torture methods that Vietnamese revolutionaries endured.

Bai Nhat Beach
Bai Nhat charms visitors with its rare, untouched beauty. Its smooth white-sand shoreline only appears for a few hours each day when the tide recedes. With blue skies, sparkling water, and sunlight dancing on the waves, Bai Nhat is the perfect beach for your summer escape.
Besides its stunning coast, the route leading to Bai Nhat resembles a European seaside road—romantic and picture-perfect. As the sun sets, the area becomes an ideal spot for a leisurely walk and sunset watching. Nearby stands the famous Love Peak, whose silhouette resembles two lovers embracing—an iconic check-in point for couples.

Nui Mot Pagoda
Nui Mot Pagoda—also known as Van Son Tu—is the spiritual heart of the local community. Reflecting traditional East Asian Buddhist architecture, the pagoda is dedicated to Buddha and various Bodhisattvas. Though modest in size, its location is spectacular: nestled against Nui Mot mountain with sweeping views in every direction.

Visitors come here to pray for health and peace for themselves and their families. In the late afternoon, Nui Mot Pagoda offers one of the best panoramic views of Con Dao, especially when the island is gently bathed in sunset light.
