Self-drive car rental

Choose your departure time, stops and pace. Share your pickup area, rental dates and preferred vehicle to check availability and discuss rental conditions.

When does self-drive rental make sense?

Self-drive hire suits travellers who want to drive the vehicle themselves and choose their own stops and schedule. It can work for family trips, friends travelling together or business use. Identify the intended driver and the full route before collecting the car.

If you are unfamiliar with local roads, prefer not to manage parking or want to rest during the journey, consider a private car with a driver. For a small party on a fixed route, the Vung Tau–Saigon limousine is another option.

Choose a vehicle and pickup location

Consider passenger numbers, luggage, the roads on your itinerary and the driver’s experience. State whether you prefer an automatic or manual vehicle, your collection and return times and the address. Hotel or airport delivery and returning the car elsewhere need a separate availability and fee check.

Discuss rental conditions before booking

  • Documents accepted for both the renter and the driver.
  • Deposit, payment method and deposit refund timing.
  • How rental days are counted, mileage limits and late-return charges.
  • Fuel, cleaning, delivery and travel outside the agreed area.
  • Insurance coverage, incident responsibilities and the support contact.

Requirements vary by provider and vehicle. International visitors should have the provider check their driving licence and relevant documents before confirming a rental; being able to submit an enquiry is not a determination of driving eligibility.

Check the car at handover

Photograph the exterior, glass, tyres and cabin, and record existing marks with the person handing over the vehicle. Check fuel level, mileage, lights, air conditioning, accessories and accompanying documents. Keep the handover record and agree on what to do if a problem occurs before driving away.

Frequently asked questions

Does submitting the request reserve a car?

No. Vehicle availability, documents and rental terms must be checked and confirmed directly with you.

Can I return the car somewhere else?

You may request this in advance. Availability and additional charges depend on the provider and route.

What if my rental dates change?

Contact the team early to check new dates or an extension. Do not extend use beyond the agreed return time without the rental provider’s agreement.
