Bãi Cây Mến – Pristine Beauty on Hòn Lớn, Nam Du Archipelago

Bãi Cây Mến (Cay Men Beach) is one of the most beautiful and well-known beaches in the Nam Du Archipelago, located on Hòn Lớn. Framed by long-standing coconut palms and natural rocky outcrops, the beach exudes a serene, crystal-clear charm—true to the image of a tropical paradise in the Gulf of Thailand.

Thanks to its sheltered position, Cay Men Beach enjoys calm seas year-round, with clear, tranquil waters. Seen from above, the shoreline resembles a vast natural lagoon, where a ribbon of soft white sand meets the water’s edge—ideal for swimming, leisurely walks, or simply unwinding amid untouched nature.

The defining highlight of Cay Men Beach is its coastal grove of mature coconut trees. Despite the name “Cây Mến,” coconuts dominate the landscape, many planted decades ago. Their wide canopies provide cool shade and create a distinctive scene that sets this beach apart from others across Nam Du.

The sea’s color shifts with the seasons—from a gentle turquoise to a deeper, more contemplative blue—accompanied by the soft murmur of waves that fosters a sense of calm all year long. Fresh air and open horizons make Cay Men Beach a perfect stop for travelers who favor slow travel and unspoiled natural settings.

Largely untouched by mass tourism, Cay Men Beach has retained its raw beauty and cleanliness. The strong environmental awareness of local residents also plays a key role in preserving the beach’s natural character.

After relaxing and swimming at Cay Men, visitors can continue to nearby beaches such as Bãi Ngự and Bãi Chệt, savor fresh seafood, shop for local specialties, or camp overnight to fully experience the simple, peaceful rhythm of life in Nam Du.
