Bãi Nhà Port—commonly known among locals as Hòn Sơn Port—is located at Bãi Nhà on Hòn Sơn Island, Kiên Hải Special Administrative Zone, An Giang Province. It serves as the island’s primary gateway to the mainland, situated about 65 km west of Rạch Giá.
A Modern Seaport Amid the Blue Ocean
The Bãi Nhà pier is solidly built and designed to safely receive high-capacity boats, with a total length of 134 meters.
Pier Specifications
- Width: 4 m (approach bridge), 7 m (passing section), 8 m (berthing area)
- Structure: Reinforced concrete with high-strength concrete pile foundations
- Safety equipment:
- 8 mooring buoys (2.6 m diameter)
- 2 signal buoys (2.8 m diameter)
These features allow vessels up to 150 CV to dock safely even during rough seas.
The Starting Point for Island Tours & Day Trips
From Bãi Nhà Port, visitors can easily join island-hopping tours to nearby destinations such as Nam Du, Hòn Nghệ, and Hòn Tre.
The pier is also a popular “Instagrammable spot” thanks to its photogenic backdrop of turquoise water, rustic fishing boats, and a peaceful seaside atmosphere—perfect for couples and travel photographers.
How to Get to Hòn Sơn
To reach Hòn Sơn, travelers take a high-speed ferry from Rạch Giá on the Rạch Giá – Nam Du route.
Hòn Sơn (Bãi Nhà Port) is the first stop before the boat continues to Nam Du, making it the most convenient and only direct way for visitors to access the island.
A Lifeline for the Local Community
As Hòn Sơn relies entirely on maritime transport, Bãi Nhà Port plays a crucial role in the island’s economy, trade, fisheries, and tourism.
Hòn Sơn currently has two main piers:
- Bãi Nhà Port – the primary and busiest port, located in the administrative center
- Bãi Bấc Port – a secondary, smaller pier
Among them, Bãi Nhà remains the heart of island connectivity—supporting passenger arrivals, goods transportation, and daily activities for the residents of Lại Sơn Commune.
