Love Valley, Da Lat

Dalat Travel

Located about 5 km north of Da Lat city center, Love Valley nestles among gently sloping hills surrounded by evergreen pine forests. Once known as Hoa Binh Valley, or Valley of Peace, during the reign of Emperor Bao Dai, the area gradually became one of Da Lat’s most famous scenic attractions and enduring symbols of romance.

The creation of Da Thien Lake after the construction of a dam in 1972 added another layer of charm to the landscape. The calm waters among the pine-covered hills created a picturesque setting that has long attracted couples and visitors from across Vietnam.

Today, the destination operates under the commercial name TTC World – Love Valley, located at 3–5–7 Mai Anh Dao Street, Da Lat, Lam Dong Province. Together with the adjacent Mong Mo Hill tourist area, it forms a large-scale tourism complex covering nearly 140 hectares.

From Vallée d’Amour to Love Valley

During the 1930s, under French rule, the area was still a relatively pristine and romantic valley. French couples and officials often visited the site for weekend outings, sightseeing and rendezvous. The French called it Vallée d’Amour, meaning Love Valley.

During the reign of Emperor Bao Dai, around 1949–1953, when he served as Head of State of the State of Vietnam and head of the Crown Domain, the area was renamed Hoa Binh Valley, or Valley of Peace.

In 1953, Nguyen Vy, then Chairman of the Da Lat Town Council, proposed translating the French name into Vietnamese as Thung Lung Tinh Yeu, or Love Valley. The name was retained and has remained closely associated with the destination ever since.

In 1972, the Da Thien Dam was built across the local stream, creating Da Thien Lake within the valley. The new lake transformed the landscape, bringing together water, pine-covered hills and winding paths to create one of Da Lat’s characteristic scenic settings.

In 1998, Love Valley was officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a National Scenic Site.

Later, TTC and TTC Hospitality took over the destination and merged Love Valley with the adjacent Mong Mo Hill tourist area. The combined complex was developed into TTC World – Love Valley, integrating natural landscapes with sightseeing, entertainment and experiential tourism.

Da Thien Lake and the Scenic Landscape

Da Thien Lake is one of the defining features of Love Valley. Surrounded by pine-covered slopes, its calm surface creates a quintessential Da Lat landscape where water, forests and winding paths come together.

Visitors can enjoy pedal boats and kayaks or simply walk along the lakeside to take in the scenery and capture photographs.

From Vong Canh Hill, one of the higher points within the complex, visitors can enjoy a broader view over Da Thien Dam, the lake, the surrounding pine forests and toward the Langbiang mountain range.

The destination also features a variety of themed attractions associated with romance, including the Love Maze, Love Lock Bridge, Fortune Tree and a miniature collection of 30 World Wonders, featuring models inspired by landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.

The Ngan Thong 7D Glass Bridge is one of the modern attractions, extending across the pine-covered valley and combining a glass walkway with 7D sound and visual effects.

Another attraction is the Dragon Museum, which displays handcrafted artistic representations of dragons and other symbolic creatures inspired by traditional East Asian culture.

From a Picnic Valley to a Modern Tourism Complex

Originally known mainly as a natural setting for picnics and sightseeing, Love Valley has gradually evolved into an integrated tourism destination combining ecology, entertainment and cultural experiences.

Visitors can travel around the complex by electric shuttle vehicles and sightseeing trains, enjoy activities on the lake, explore food and dining areas, or take part in cultural performances featuring Central Highlands gong traditions.

The destination also hosts seasonal events, particularly programs celebrating Valentine’s Day, flower art exhibitions and light festivals. These activities have reinforced Love Valley’s identity as one of Da Lat’s best-known destinations for romantic experiences and special occasions.
