Three Cascading Tiers in the Forest

From above, white streams of water cascade down through three interconnected waterfall tiers, forming the distinctive landscape of A No Waterfall.

The waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation. Fine spray from the cascading water fills the air, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere. On hot days, the area provides a natural retreat from the heat of the central Vietnamese highlands.

Many visitors describe A No as a “natural air conditioner”, thanks to its cool flowing water and dense forest surroundings. The refreshing atmosphere is especially welcome during periods of intense sunshine and the dry, hot winds characteristic of central Vietnam.

An Ecological Landscape in the Mountains

The A No ecotourism area extends beyond the waterfall itself into a much larger mountain landscape. One of its notable features is Chop Mu Mountain, whose summit is often covered in clouds throughout the year, surrounded by stretches of old-growth forest.

The area provides habitat for a variety of valuable plant and animal species, contributing to the ecological importance of the A Luoi mountains.

Visitors to A No can spend time walking through the greenery, listening to the sound of flowing water, and experiencing the gradual transition from settled areas into the quieter world of the forest.

Discovering the Culture of A Luoi’s Ethnic Communities

Another highlight of a journey to A Nor Waterfall is the opportunity to learn about the cultural traditions of the ethnic communities living in the A Luoi highlands, including the Pa Ko, Ta Oi, Pa Hi, Co Tu, and Van Kieu peoples.

At the entrance to the ecotourism area is Viet Tien Village, where visitors can experience aspects of traditional Pa Ko culture.

Here, visitors may have the opportunity to enjoy ruou can, or traditional rice wine served from a communal jar, listen to gongs, and watch the Cha Chap dance, a traditional cultural performance of the Pa Ko people.

The combination of natural scenery and local culture means that a journey to A No is more than a visit to a waterfall. It is also an opportunity to discover the landscape, communities, and cultural heritage of A Luoi.

A Nor Waterfall – A Green Destination in A Luoi

From the white waters of its three cascading tiers to the old-growth forests surrounding Chop Mu Mountain, A No reflects the distinctive character of the mountainous landscape of Hue.

It is a destination well suited to travelers who enjoy nature, mountain exploration, and community-based cultural experiences. A visit can combine time beside the waterfall with forest exploration and an introduction to the traditional culture of the ethnic communities of A Luoi.

Deep in the mountains of the Truong Son range, A No Waterfall reveals another side of Hue: a Hue of forests, waterfalls, mountain landscapes, and vibrant cultural communities.
